About Center Hill Lake

• Dam completed in 1948, fully impounded in 1950
• Built to curb flooding on the Caney Fork River
• Controls water runoff from 2,174 square miles of the Upper Cumberland basin
• Lake is 64 miles long with 415 miles of shoreline
• Excellent fishing opportunities
• Managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers
• Most of the shoreline is undeveloped-very few private docks
• Cruise Center Hill is the only licensed, insured and Corps-approved houseboat cruise operator on the lake
